I’ve been researching techniques in parametric composition for over 20 years, and I have found it to be a means by which I can explain to a computer my compositional intentions … something of a musical style guide if you will … and then let it go create something.
This came as a result over the years of struggling with creative blocks. For that purpose, I have found it to be of invaluable assistance. If I choose, every rendering of a script may need not be the same. This is far from what we now know of as AI, nor is it what is called generative music … and the results are often fascinating.
